Colour Shadows

it was warm outside
June sixteenth
I sat close to the music
so I could hear the song
you sang with your eyes
eleven hours earlier
I realized
the sun never stops shining
like your memory
casting colour shadows across my mind

I stood in the same spot
on the sidewalk
as if any move
might change the way I felt
like any thought
might make me think
about something else
the way I felt
the wind on my neck
or where it went
with my breath
setting sunstyle in the west
like your memory
casting colour shadows across my mind
