With Her Away

a yearning grows... uncertain time

it learns to take on hurting

turns out in dry season... burning with days

a captive of the ocean

tide that hurled it’s spray and burst in furor

out in wry seas... a churning awake

wither away with her away

at ending day, it wanes

all the ways our love can behave

wither away with her away

and in the rain, i wait

for a way out of yesterday

the searching in a person

vision blurred by tears clouding reason

what was i dreaming early today?

she stood wrapped in the curtains

windy squirms now nearly blown free

but caught in the lead

of further mind play

wither away with her away

and every day, we change

all the ways our love can behave

wither away with her away

and in my pain, i wade

further ways out from yesterday

with her away wither away
